Evidence Summary

Standard over-the-counter fish oil. Large trials (STRENGTH, VITAL) found NO significant cardiovascular benefit at typical supplement doses. This is a different product and a different result from prescription high-dose EPA — don't conflate them.

Safety Considerations

Raises atrial-fibrillation risk and carries a bleeding signal, like all omega-3. Little benefit shown at typical supplement doses (under 1 g/day). Not equivalent to prescription EPA.
